SINGAPORE: The last surviving print of a rare 1950s local film has been restored and digitised by the Asian Film Archive.

"Moon Over Malaya" is a romantic drama about a man who struggled to balance his family business and passion for promoting education in Malaya.

It was shot in Singapore and Malaya in 1957, and was produced by the Kong Ngee Company, a production house founded in 1937.

President S R Nathan and local filmmakers attended a charity screening of the film on Tuesday evening at The Cathay.
