Core Volunteer Policy
The Asian Film Archive's film preservation, cataloguing, fundraising,
communications and outreach work is a partnership between Volunteers and staff.
As a Volunteer, your gift of time, skills and experience will extend the
Archive's capacity to realise our mission. By doing so it is the Archive's aim
that Volunteers gain satisfaction from this partnership and that the
relationship is one of mutual benefit.
When you volunteer with the Archive it is our aim that:
You can make a difference to save great films from getting lost, damaged or
misplaced, so more people will still get the chance to see them.
Your volunteering is appreciated and recognised.
You are provided with all the information and guidance required for you to carry
out your volunteering. You are encouraged to develop in your volunteering role.
You can expect the Archive to seek your views on its work and on your
You volunteer in an environment that is safe.
You are free to stop volunteering at any time.
In order to meet these aims:
The Archive expects everyone to carry out their volunteering within the
organisation's Policies and Procedures.
The Archive expects all volunteers to act within its code of conduct.
The Archive will take up references for all volunteers, as part of the selection
The Archive may request that an individual stops volunteering where the
relationship has broken down.
