Nurturing a new generation
CineOdeon is a youth-led cinema chain showcasing independent films by acclaimed and upcoming Asian filmmakers. Students/participants from participating schools/organizations will form teams to manage and market their own digital screenings under the guidance of industry professionals and the Asian Film Archive.

Since its inception in 2007, youths from over 20 institutions have organized film screenings around Singapore, reaching out to a diverse range of viewers and raising funds for the filmmakers whose films have been showcased. The CineOdeon Teams have been creative, innovative and entrepreneurial, earning praise from international film programmers and critics like Rotterdam, the Philippines, Australia and Malaysia. Besides screenings, past CineOdeon events have seen various pre- and post- screening activities initiated by youths ranging from an art exhibition held by the School of Art, Design and Media in Nanyang Technological University to film discussions facilitated by students in Hwa Chong Institution.
