A Family Portrait / Un Retrato De Familia | 2004 | 8'21 | Spanish

A coming-of-age story of Sergio, a seventeen year-old photographer ensconced in the warmth of a loving family. When Sergio’s little sister asks him about sex, he remembers the family secret he discovered on one fateful day.

Boo Junfeng
Boo Junfeng is one of Singapore’s prolific young short filmmakers. In 2003, he graduated from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore with a Diploma with Merit in Film, Sound & Video, and was awarded the Shaw Foundation Gold Medal for being the top graduate of his cohort. During his final semester, he went on a six-month exchange programme to Barcelona, Spain, where he majored in Direction at the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya. There, he wrote and directed A Family Portrait. In 2005, Junfeng was selected as one of only 20 participants from Asia in the inaugural session of the Asian Film Academy, organised by the Pusan International Film Festival in Korea. Keluar Baris, his short film in 2008, won the Best Short Film, Best Director and Best Cinematography Awards at the 21st Singapore International Film Festival.
